The Importance of Selecting the Perfect Shampoo for Your Pooch
You might be lured to use human-grade shampoo on your dog for the sake of convenience. The challenge is, human-grade shampoo isn't formulated for use on anything other than your scalp and hair. Dogs have unique hair and skin needs that call for shampoos and conditioners with distinct formulations such as dry skin relief, insect-repelling properties, or maybe dry coat cleansers for the times when you can't give your dog a full bath.
Think of the fact your dog is very likely to roll in the garbage, get into a tangle with a skunk, pick up fleas or ticks, get dry, itchy patches, and it quickly becomes obvious why you really need coat products that are made to handle these problems. Human-grade shampoo won't include the proper ingredients to de-scent, repair dryness, or eliminate unwanted hitchhikers. We at The Hydrant Pet Center sell a full range of dog grooming products that meet your needs to keep your dog smelling nice and looking great.
Use the Appropriate Brushes and Combs for Your Dog's Coat
Dog coats come in a variety of textures with hair follicles differing from pin straight to tight curls. Several dogs grow compact undercoats while others have almost no undercoat whatsoever. All coats call for using the right kind of brush to decrease pulling out healthy hair and avoid skin harm. Your dog may enjoy a good scratching with the brush, or they may be thin-skinned and call for the lightest of touches. If you're uncertain of what types of brushes are best for the job, don't hesitate to ask our experts at The Hydrant Pet Center in Highland Stop in or give us a call at (219) 923-3649 number] to discuss the kind of coat and particular issues your dog has. We'll show you what brushes and combs are the best for your dog.
The Hydrant is a great place. They have a great selection of food and products for your babies plus the groomers are the best. Stephanie is wonderful! She has taken exceptional care of my boys (Toby and tanner) for years. I so appreciate the loving care and patience she has given to my now senior fur baby!
This places always friendly super nice and if you have a animal aggressive dog such as myself they take special care as well you don't need an appointment typically to get the nails clipped but I recommend 2 weeks in advance for your grooming appointment Amazing customer service
They did return my call promptly about grooming (they do groom cats). Unfortunately my cat passed before I could get her in. I have heard great things about them. I think the groomer is Monday thru Thursday but call first, they will call you back 🙂.
