The Importance of Selecting the Best Shampoo for Your Pooch
You might be tempted to use human-grade shampoo on your dog for the sake of convenience. The problem is, human-grade shampoo isn't created for use on anything other than your scalp and hair. Dogs have distinct hair and skin needs that call for shampoos and conditioners with particular formulations such as dry skin relief, insect-repelling properties, or even dry coat cleaners for the times when you can't give your dog a full bath.
Think about the fact your dog is highly likely to roll in the garbage, get into a tangle with a skunk, get fleas or ticks, get dry, itchy spots, and it rapidly becomes evident why you need coat products that are created to take on these complications. Human-grade shampoo won't contain the proper components to de-scent, heal dryness, or get rid of unwanted hitchhikers. We at The Hydrant Pet Center sell a complete range of dog grooming products that meet your needs to keep your dog smelling nice and looking good.
Use the Right Brushes and Combs for Your Dog's Coat
Dog coats come in a variety of textures with hair follicles ranging from pin straight to tight curls. Many dogs grow thick undercoats while others have virtually no undercoat whatsoever. All coats require using the correct kind of brush to decrease pulling out healthy hair and stop skin harm. Your dog may take pleasure in a good scratching with the brush, or they may be thin-skinned and need the lightest of touches. If you're not exactly sure of what types of brushes are best for the job, don't hesitate to ask our pros at The Hydrant Pet Center in Highland Stop in or give us a call at (219) 923-3649 number] to discuss the kind of coat and specific issues your dog has. We'll show you what brushes and combs are the very best for your dog.
The Hydrant is a great place. They have a great selection of food and products for your babies plus the groomers are the best. Stephanie is wonderful! She has taken exceptional care of my boys (Toby and tanner) for years. I so appreciate the loving care and patience she has given to my now senior fur baby!
This places always friendly super nice and if you have a animal aggressive dog such as myself they take special care as well you don't need an appointment typically to get the nails clipped but I recommend 2 weeks in advance for your grooming appointment Amazing customer service
They did return my call promptly about grooming (they do groom cats). Unfortunately my cat passed before I could get her in. I have heard great things about them. I think the groomer is Monday thru Thursday but call first, they will call you back 🙂.
