The Importance of Choosing the Best Shampoo for Your Dog
You might be lured to use human-grade shampoo on your dog for the sake of convenience. The problem is, human-grade shampoo isn't designed for use on anything other than your scalp and hair. Dogs have special hair and skin needs that require shampoos and conditioners with specific formulations such as dry skin relief, insect-repelling properties, or even dry coat cleaners for the times when you can't give your dog a full bath.
Think about the reality your dog is highly likely to roll in the garbage, get into a tangle with a skunk, get fleas or ticks, get dry, scratchy spots, and it rapidly becomes obvious why you really need coat products that are made to deal with these problems. Human-grade shampoo won't contain the correct ingredients to de-scent, treat dryness, or eliminate unwanted hitchhikers. We at The Hydrant Pet Center stock a complete range of dog grooming supplies that satisfy your needs to keep your dog smelling great and looking great.
Use the Perfect Brushes and Combs for Your Dog's Coat
Dog coats come in an array of textures with hair follicles differing from pin straight to tight curls. Some dogs grow compact undercoats while others have virtually no undercoat whatsoever. All coats demand using the best kind of brush to decrease pulling out healthy hair and stop skin injury. Your dog may appreciate a good scratching with the brush, or they may be thin-skinned and require the lightest of touches. If you're unsure of what types of brushes are best for the job, don't hesitate to ask our experts at The Hydrant Pet Center in Highland Stop in or give us a call at (219) 923-3649 number] to discuss the type of coat and certain issues your dog has. We'll show you what brushes and combs are the best for your dog.
The Hydrant is a great place. They have a great selection of food and products for your babies plus the groomers are the best. Stephanie is wonderful! She has taken exceptional care of my boys (Toby and tanner) for years. I so appreciate the loving care and patience she has given to my now senior fur baby!
This places always friendly super nice and if you have a animal aggressive dog such as myself they take special care as well you don't need an appointment typically to get the nails clipped but I recommend 2 weeks in advance for your grooming appointment Amazing customer service
They did return my call promptly about grooming (they do groom cats). Unfortunately my cat passed before I could get her in. I have heard great things about them. I think the groomer is Monday thru Thursday but call first, they will call you back 🙂.
