If you were to close your eyes and think back to your happiest memories with your cats, chances are that the images that come into your mind involve your cats at play. Stalking, jumping, overpowering, and batting toys around gives cats and their people tons of joy - so why do cats so often ignore the toys we bring home for them?
There is one very simple rule to consider about buying toys for cats:
Cats want variety. Cats like to enjoy a toy in every classification all the time.
Cats don't just like toys. They prefer lots of toys. They like a collection of interactive cat toys that use all of their hunting skills. If you have enough toys, you can rotate your cat's options so they can search for a favorite toy. Just don't hide a favorite toy away permanently. Ensure that your cats have chances to enjoy all of their toys frequently.
What are the types of cat toys? Here are just a few:
Balls and chasers entice your cat to chase with feathers, fun noises, and peculiar shapes.
Catnip toys are intoxicating toys your cats will clamor for.
Chew toys are a great choice for cats that love to chew, and they also help to keep your cat's breath fresh and teeth clean.
Interactive and electronic toys bring out the best in your cat's hunting abilities.
Plush and mice toys end up being treasured toys that can calm and calm your cat when it's time to go into the carrier.
Scratcher posts and mats are a must for elderly cats and kitties.
Teasers and wands are terrific toys for sharing playtime with your cat.
Tunnels become the covering places where you can easily find your cat.
And variety packs help you make certain your cat always has a fun toy.
Remember to shop for cat-sized toys, not human-sized toys.
Cats prefer toys that are light and small enough to be swatted without a lot of effort. They also like toys that are small enough to be grasped. And their favorite toys are objects they can play with in multiple ways.
And remember that cats need safe toys.
When you are trying to find toys for your cat, you need to be sure they don't have any strings that could be pulled off and ingested. They need to be large enough that your cat won't try to eat them. They should be made from non-toxic materials. Little button eyes and button noses are charming, but anything that can be bitten off and swallowed is dangerous for your cat. Cats of all ages can be injured by toys with sharp points and edges. Buy safe toys to keep your cats safe. At The Hydrant Pet Center we only provide toys that are safe for your cat.

The Hydrant is a great place. They have a great selection of food and products for your babies plus the groomers are the best. Stephanie is wonderful! She has taken exceptional care of my boys (Toby and tanner) for years. I so appreciate the loving care and patience she has given to my now senior fur baby!
This places always friendly super nice and if you have a animal aggressive dog such as myself they take special care as well you don't need an appointment typically to get the nails clipped but I recommend 2 weeks in advance for your grooming appointment Amazing customer service
They did return my call promptly about grooming (they do groom cats). Unfortunately my cat passed before I could get her in. I have heard great things about them. I think the groomer is Monday thru Thursday but call first, they will call you back 🙂.
